An MBA in shipping is aimed at fine tuning one’s knowledge of administration of shipping and logistics associated with it. It is a rare specialization in the maritime industry and is offered by countable institutes all over the world. Normally, one takes up an M.Sc degree in maritime activities and logistics in its place. MBA in shipping will boost one’s career in this industry.Students are taught courses on essential maritime business concepts and the legalities involved in this business.  These specific courses are aimed at a better understanding of the business as it involves coast regulations and in the case of international trading via shipping includes a lot of knowledge on coast regulations and rules, etc. It is typically of a two year duration and has been very successful in producing aspiring maritime business executives and enhancing their businesses.

Eligibility

Eligibility into such programmes would mean that students satisfy the following criteria:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or any other equivalent degree
2. A suitable GMAT score (or any other entrance exam score applicable, depends upon the university)
3. Work experience of atleast 2 years
Specifications depends upon the university, but the generic criteria remains the same. Some university require that their students will have completed a diploma on ship management and logistics before pursuing this degree but then again, that depends on the university.
